We believe that life is about thriving, living a joyful, satisfying and enriched life, not just surviving. We understand that people’s lives and individual circumstances are unique, dealing with difficult situations and/or mental health issues can be complex and sometimes lonely. We pride ourselves in providing support and expertise across a wide range of issues unique to individuals and families.

We will do everything in our power to help you address any, and all issues you need help with, willing to resolve and looking to work on. While we are a trauma sensitive practise, and will support you and help you with and work through any traumatic past experience you may have, we also work with and provide therapeutic services to people who simply need some guidance and support from time to time to process the elements of day-to-day life and any concerns that may arise, which can sometimes be overwhelming and come with complexities. You don’t need to suffer a trauma, mental health issues or a serious life-changing event to seek out therapy. Talking to a therapist can prevent ongoing, serious future problems, remove barriers before these happen, and enable you to deal with these in an effective and efficient way should they occur. We will work with you on any presenting issues and concerns that you feel like you need help with! Regardless of your past, your experiences and difficulties, we will treat you with respect, understanding and acceptance, and will apply therapeutic approaches to suit you and your needs.

What Can We Help You With?

Anxiety

People effected by  anxiety - whether diagnosed or undiagnosed - experience frequent excessive worry that is out of proportion, difficult to manage, and cause them to avoid certain people, places, activities or things. No matter what type of anxiety you’re dealing with, there are ways to reduce or eliminate it and we are here to help.

Depression & Stress

Long term high levels of stress and depression can be debilitating, especially if left untreated. It’s different from feeling sad. If you’ve been lacking interest in things you enjoy, feeling sad for most of the day, or having thoughts of death/suicide, it’s a good idea to reach out to a counsellor for help.

Relationships

Relationships are complicated and can have ups and downs, sometimes it can be hard to stay connected. Whether you’re struggling with a romantic relationship, family connections or a friendship, counselling can help you recognise differences, better manage challenges or reconcile.

Trauma

Trauma has many forms and affects people in a different way. It can be very difficult to handle without the support of a qualified professional. Experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event can lead to PTSD and other mental health disorders. Be kind to yourself, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Grief and Loss

Loss can happen not only by losing a loved one or a pet, but also through break-ups, changes and other significant life events. Loss can leave you feeling alone, lost, confused, angry and you can even feel like  you are suffocating. You don't need to get through these difficult times alone. It is OK to seek support and talk about these feelings with a counsellor.

Life Changes and Transitions

Life is full of changes...

Nothing really remains the same forever. Changes can be big or small, planned or unplanned. Any transition or change can have significant impacts on one's life and adjusting can be hard and cause serious distress. A counsellor can help you make the transition smoother and help you to manage and cope better.

Trauma/Childhood Trauma

Trauma is an emotional response to an event, disaster, violence, accident, and exposure to other unexpected, unwanted events. It can be caused by a single event, or prolonged, repeated experience. Trauma can affect anybody at any time of life and can lead to mental health issues. Talking to a counsellor can help you overcome these.
